Old better than new!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My 25 years old similar 33" side by side Whirlpool fridge broke down a month ago and was replaced by this one. On startup, the new one is brighter and quieter with same temperature achievement. However, the volume seems to be slightly less. The fridge shelves and drawers are slightly smaller than the old ones while the freezer width is also slightly narrower. The top hinges are not covered so that more dust can accumulate. The worst design is the front grille on the bottom which cannot be removed when the doors are closed. You need to keep both doors open in order to remove the bottom grille for vacuuming or cleaning the bottom of the fridge.

Yes, I recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] trouble with temperaure variations called 'whirlpool service..not available for 30 days..called another service came out in three days..he said newer fridges run more frequently and temperature doesn't catch up to correct temp. He said to put a glass of water with a meat thermometer in it on top shelf and that would give correct temp..It seems to work ok but regular temp gauge and gauge in water varies. (The regular gauge in my other smaller garage fridge..works fine.) the refrigerator is beautiful and roomy and seems ok now..but I am still baffled about the different temp readings..only two months old..surprised at limited warranty...

Shelves fall out and fridge freezes water pitcher

We've only had this a few months but since day one, the fridge was too cold, of course we turned it down to the warmest setting but the top shelf items (nearest the cold air duct) will freeze if not disturbed for 24 hours. I could live with that, but the shelves in the fridge door just fall out and everything smashes on the floor, not once but several times. The shelves are deep enough for 3 heavy gallon jugs, but we've never abused them that badly. I was on the phone several times for help and the call-back service didn't call me back. I've resorted to using polyurethane caulking to stick the shelves on to the inner door liner

No, I do not recommend this product.

Clean Looking Lines

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like most people who have a refrigerator stop working without notice I was under stress to select a side-by-side. Waiting for 6-7 days without food under refrigeration is a real problem! I needed a refrigerator no wider than 33". I am disappointed that this model doesn't allow enough height on the top shelf to allow a gallon of milk to be placed there rather than on the door. I don't like that much weight on the door. It would only have required a small additional amount of space to accommodate the heavy milk container. I am disappointed that packages of food (walnuts) have slid off the back of the glass shelves. I miss having a meat drawer.

Adequate refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this side by side to replace a 30 yr old side by side by another brand. Old refrigerator worked but was afraid it would break down. The space for the refrigerator is constricted in height. This was the only model I could find at the right height w/o a water and ice dispenser which I did not want. The refrigerator is smaller but it's adequate. I would have paid more for a higher end model but it was almost impossible to find one at the right height and w/o ice/water. the plastic bins are cheap. It would be nice if there were holders for ice cube trays so they don't take up so much room in the freezer. It's a refrigerator, and it's adquate.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to replace a 15 year old GE French door refrigerator that was very noisy and had a water dispenser and ice maker that we didn't use. This side by side is much quieter and doesn't have the extras that we don't need. The freezer side is much easier to find items compared to the bottom drawer of the old GE, which is great. My only complaint is there is no controls for the fruit and vegetable drawers and no cheese/ snack drawer, which is a great option to have. I've invested in some refrigerator organizers which will help keep things ready to take out for meal prep and snacks. All in all, we are happy with the new fridge.

Quiet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a few weeks ago to replace an almost 30 yr old Whirlpool side by side refrigerator. It is pretty, sleek and quiet. I love how quiet it is when it runs. It is taking me time to like the shelves and bulky side containers on the doors. The solid shelves don't go all the way back to the wall of the refrig so space is being wasted. I guess because the shelves are solid it is their way of air circulating. I have a tight space for my refrigerator so my door only opens straight out which does not leave me much room to get things off the shelf on the far right side due to the big containers for that are for the door shelves.

Inside fridge needs re-worked

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace my 1995 side-by-side. Inside fridge not as spacious...bottom shelf doesn't go all the way back due to the light fixture. Door bins too big so less shelf space. Prefer the older model slim door handles, new ones stick out more. If I need to take out vegie bin, I have to pull the fridge forward to an open doorway to swing the door open wider. Toe kick left side open space kinda ugly. Wish I could have gotten my old one repaired...it was biscuit/almond colored and had better configuration inside the fridge and slimer door handles. Had to go with white. Doesn't match my other appliances. It is quite and I guess i'll get used to it.
